Think Active has launched a survey aimed at helping sports clubs and organisations around Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire access safeguarding and welfare support.
Local clubs and groups are encouraged to complete the short survey which seeks to establish what support and guidance they need to help create safe and inclusive environments for everyone involved in sport and physical activity.
Feedback provided will help Think Active to improve support provided across the sector, as part of our mission to enable everyone to benefit from movement and enjoy sport and physical activity in safe and thriving communities.
It follows the appointment of Think Active’s new Sport Welfare Lead, Charlie Creed, whose role includes working with clubs and welfare officers in the area to support and promote best practice in safeguarding and welfare.
Funded by Sport England through the National Lottery, the Sport Welfare Officer Network has been created across 42 Active Partnerships around the country to help local clubs promote good practice and safer sport for all.
Charlie will be able to provide local support for club welfare officers, signpost to advice, facilitate local training and events, connect volunteers and staff with networks, share and develop best practice, and raise awareness of safeguarding and welfare.
