Leadership and Volunteering

We are committed to building young people’s skills and expertise through volunteering to support the sport and physical activity workforce in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire. Over the last year, we have worked with more than 50 young people to help them develop key skills which will support them through many aspects of their life.

Through support and training in volunteering and leadership, we can strengthen the workforce for the physical activity and sport sector, while creating opportunities for young people.

Think Active have launched their Leadership and Volunteering programme in partnership with e-learning platform Skills360. This is a targeted programme for young people aged 14-25 in the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire area.

Skills360 logo

Skills360 is an e-learning platform that offers many leadership modules suitable for young people. The aim of this project is to equip young people in our local area with a set of transferable skills for a career that is sports focused. Each young person will also undertake 30 hours of volunteering so they can put their learning into practice.

We would particularly like to work with the following groups:

  • Girls
  • Disabled young people, and those who work with them
  • People living in areas of high deprivation

We are supporting sports clubs, community and youth groups with this offer – those who are successful in their application will receive £200 per young person who enrols on Skills360.
