The Coventry Partnership is evolving as Coventry is set to benefit from phase 2 of Sport England’s Place Investment in 2026. This place investment aims to address local structural and systemic drivers of physical inactivity, with a focus on understanding the barriers and tackling inequalities which people face to being active.

So far, the development of this investment bid has been overseen by a Core Strategy group. During 2025/26, this group will transition to become the ‘Active Coventry Partnership’, bringing together a broader range of partners.

Alongside this work, a consultation is underway to develop a Sports and Physical Activity Strategy for Coventry.
